Wesley College\'s E. J. Washington nailed a three-pointer with 5.4 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime. Wesley outscored MC 13-11 in the overtime period for the win.
The Choctaws led by as many as 13 points in the second half and held a 60-47 advantage with just under ten minutes remaining. Wesley cut into the deficit and took their first lead of the second half with under one minute remaining.
The loss breaks a 16-game consecutive home winning streak for the Choctaws. MC had won 36 of their last 37 games in A. E. Wood Coliseum entering the contest.
Brandon Washington led Wesley with 27 points to help them improve their record to 9-1 this season. Marvin Flemmons added 18 for the Warriors.
Marcus Evans led the Choctaws with 18 points while D. J. Jones and Tim Broomfield added 17 and 15, respectively.
The loss drops the Choctaws to 0-1 this season. They hit the court again Saturday at home against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Game time is 3:00 pm.
