Greensboro, N.C. — Guilford College's Ben Strong (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill) and George Neville (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) registered double-doubles in the Quakers' 102-80 men's basketball win over Lynchburg College Saturday in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference opener for both teams. The win raised Guilford's record to 4-0 (1-0 ODAC), the school's best start in its NCAA Division III history.

Strong, a junior center, scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Neville, a sophomore forward, added 22 points and 11 boards, both career highs. Neville made 11-of-14 shots from the floor and grabbed seven of Guilford's 18 offensive rebounds. The Quakers' dominance on the offensive glass resulted in a 27-11 edge in second-chance points.

Strong scored 14 points and had seven boards in the first half, which helped the Quakers open a 16-point lead midway through the period. Lynchburg's Evan Fancourt (Greensboro, N.C./Grimsley), playing before his hometown crowd, scored nine points during a 16-5 Hornets' run over the last seven minutes of the half. The rally cut Guilford's lead to 46-41 at the break.

The Quakers bounced back after intermission and opened the second half with a 16-5 spurt of their own to grab a 62-46 edge with 15:36 left in the game. Lynchburg drew no closer than 14 points the rest of the way as Guilford made 23-of-35 field goals (65.7%) in the second half.

Rookie Danny Reed (Adamstown, Md./Tuscarora) made four-of-five three pointers and led the Hornets with 22 points. Fancourt finished with 15 points and Drew Norris (Richmond, Va./Steward School) added eight points, 10 off his team-leading season average.

Jordan Snipes (Siler City, N.C./Jordan-Matthews) scored 13 points and added six boards for Guilford. Caleb Kimbrough (Carrboro, N.C./Chapel Hill) scored a season-high 11 points and dished out a game-best six assists. Rookie Clay Henson (Glen Alpine, N.C./Freedom) added 11 points off the bench. Guilford's reserves outscored their counterparts, 46-22.

The Quakers return to action Wednesday (12/6) at league-rival Hampden-Sydney at 7:00 p.m.
