GREENSBORO, N.C. — Senior Caroline Wesley posted a double-double with 18 points and 16 rebounds to help visiting Lynchburg end an eight-game losing streak with a 55-41 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win at Guilford Saturday afternoon. The Hornets (3-11, 3-7 ODAC) held the Quakers (7-9, 6-5 ODAC) without a two-point field goal for the first 22 minutes of the game and just 17.2 percent field-goal shooting from the game.

Despite its shooting woes, solid free-throw shooting and rebounding helped Guilford remain within eight points 15 minutes into the game. The Hornets ended the first half on a 14-2 run thanks to seven Wesley points and led, 35-15, at halftime. Lynchburg's Brittany Dahn scored 15 of her 17 points in the opening period on 7-of-11 field-goal shooting. Guilford made only 2-of-26 shots from the floor in the first half, including its first of the game, a three-pointer by Ann Seufer 11 seconds into the contest.

Guilford scored its first two-pointer on a Brittany Bumgarner jumper 1:55 into the second half. The Hornets built their lead to as many as 24 points before Guilford whittled its deficit down to 12 points with 1:38 to play with a late 16-4 spurt that featured six of Seufer's team-high 11 points. Tracey Croner, Guilford's leading scorer who netted 25 points in the Quakers' Jan. 9 win over the Hornets in Lynchburg, finished with six points on 2-of-16 shooting from the floor.

Alexa Williams grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds for Guilford.
