The Pointers (12-1, 6-0) hit on 14-of-27 shots from beyond the arc and used the 3-ball to go off on a 10-0 run to open the game. Stout (9-5, 2-4) did pull to within 13-12 with 12 minutes left in the first half, but that was as close as the Blue Devils would get. The Pointers ran off eight straight points after that, running out to a 44-23 halftime lead.
Steve Hicklin led the Pointers' attack, connecting on 5-of-6 3-pointers and finshed with 19 points. Pete Rortvedt hit 4-of-8 3-pointers, with all four made in the first half, tallying 12 of his 14 points before the break. When Stevens Point wasn't hitting from outside, Jon Krull was hitting underneath, and finished with a game-high 19 points.
For the first time this season, no Blue Devil scored in double figures with Jerrel Enerson-Matthews and Dre Jefferson each scoring seven points.
Stout shot 40.8 percent (20-49) from the floor, while Stevens Point shot 55.8 percent (29-52) for the game, and hit 62 percent in the second half.
The 14 three-point shots made by the Stevens Point team is three short of the WIAC record.
