With hustle and a no quit attitude the Falcons were able to make it a close call in the end. The Falcons free throw shooting was their achilles heal, as they were only able to convert 9-18. Jontae Koonkaew led the Falcons WITH 17 points on 7-11 shooting to go along with five assists.
Ryan Thompson enjoyed a late game surge from behind the arc, knocking down three in a four minute span late in the second half to keep the Falcons alive. Nate Robertson played a very aggressive game, scoring 11 points and grabbing four rebounds. He was able to get to the free throw line early and often, but could only convert 3-9. Courtney Davis was electric early in the game, hitting 5-8 from the field for 11 points going into halftime. The Pointers were able to buckle down and hold him to just three points in the second half. He finished with 14 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Scott Kelly and Tim Pearson chipped in seven points apiece.
The Falcons were once again able to hold their opponents' high scorer to a minimal game. Jon Krull came into the game averaging 21.8 points per game. The Falcons were able to hold him to just seven points on 2-13 shooting. However, other Pointers were able to pick up the slack from their leading scorer. Pete Rortvedt led the Pointers with 20 points on 7-14 shooting. Khalifa El-Amin was lights from three-point range, hitting 3-4 in the first half and 4-7 for the game to finish with 15 points.
The Pointers jumped to aN 8-0 lead on the Falcons early in the game only to see it evaporate into a 14-10 deficit due to a 14-2 Falcons run. The Falcons led until a jumper by Cory Krautkramer put the Pointers up 16-15. It was the last time the Falcons would hold the lead. The Pointers extended their lead to 69-52 with about six minutes to play. The Falcons didn't quit however, going on 21-10 run to cut the lead to just six points with 21 seconds to play.
