The Marlins jumped out to an early 34-16 lead, but the Eagles put together their best stretch of the night as a 12-0 spurt cut the margin to six, 34-28. The Marlins turned the back the BC run and closed the half with a 7-2 spurt to lead 41-30, at the break.
The Eagles opened the second half with the first four points to pull within seven but the Marlins then took control with a 13-2 run to take a 54-36 lead.
Brandon Adair led the Marlins with 20 points and TonTon Balenga added 18. Adair also grabbed seven rebounds to lead Virginia Wesleyan to a 40-27 advantage on the boards.
Freshman Dominic Trawick paced the Eagles with 20 points and junior Josh Fox finished with 14.
The Marlins are now 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the ODAC. BC drops to 3-2, 0-1 in the conference.
