The Tommies (6-5 overall, 5-3 MIAC) lost their first home game in five outings as they watched an 11-point second-half lead evaporate.
The Toms led 28-26 at halftime, and later used an 8-0 run to take a 41-30 lead with 12:22 to go, capped by Anna Swanson's 3-point basket.
But the Gusties (9-2, 6-2) answered with a 14-0 run for a 44-41 lead. They never looked back as they won their sixth in a row on the Tommies' floor dating back to 2001-2002.
Gustavus made five treys in their 23-2 comeback run and outscored UST 24-3 from 3-point range on the contest. The Gusties shot only 37% on the game but had a 40-34 rebounding advantage.
Freshman guard Brianna Radtke had 12 of her 18 points in the second half and added six rebounds and six assists. Junior guard Jess Vadnais scored 12 points. Monahan had eight of her nine rebounds in the second half, and Kenzie Consoer had four second-half assists.
UST sophomore center DeJurnett Prioleau had a career-high 17 points and added nine rebounds, and senior forward Melissa Gotchnik had 11 points and 11 rebounds. Soph forward Jessica Katch had seven rebounds, six assists and four steals.
The Tommies play their next two away -- Saturday at Concordia-Moorhead (3 p.m.), and next Monday night at St. Catherine (7:30 p.m.).
