Mac cut the lead to three points at 50-47 at 12:27 with a 10-2 run but could get no closer as Gustavus then went on a 13-5 rally to get the margin back up to 11 points at 7:08 to play. The lead was never in jeopardy after that.
Macalester has a bye Monday and returns to action Wednesday (Jan. 24) against St. Mary’s. The Golden Gusties play Monday (Jan. 22) at Augsburg.
