Olivet 88, Grace Bible 82

Indianola, Iowa — Simpson (17-8, 10-6 IIAC) ended the men’s basketball regular season with an 84-58 victory over Dubuque (11-14, 5-11 IIAC) Feb. 17 in Indianola. The Storm held the Spartans to 25% shooting in the first half (7-of-28) as the Storm took a 36-22 halftime lead. At one point, Dubuque made only four of its first 20 shots.

Simpson opened the second half on a 13-3 run, pushing the lead to 49-24 with 16:54 to go in the second half. Simpson led by as much as 29 in the second half. The Storm shot 55.9% (16-of-34) shots in the second half and made 51.6% (32-of-62) for the game.

Ryan Hittenmiller led the Storm with 23 points. He added five rebounds and two steals. Jason Parkinson scored 18 points. Brennen Tubaugh came off the bench to post a career high 18 points. Tubaugh was 7-of-10 from the field.

Nick Thomas led Dubuque with 16 points and nine rebounds. Norris Langford scored 10 for the Spartans.

The Storm will host a first round Iowa Conference Tournament game Tuesday night, Feb. 20. The game will start at 8 p.m. against an opponent to be determined by play on Saturday afternoon.
