Phoenix, Ariz. — Ryan Hittenmiller scored 23 points on 11-for-17 shooting to lead Simpson (7-3) to a 69-50 victory over Edgewood (5-5) in the finals of the Cactus Jam Men's Basketball Tournament Dec. 30 in Phoenix, Ariz. Hittenmiller added four rebounds and a steal. Jason Parkinson was 6-for-8 from the field on his way to a 19-point performance. The Storm led 37-31 at halftime, but held the Eagles to 22.9% (8-for-35) shooting in the second half. The Cactus Jam title is the first in-season championship for the Storm since the Simpson won the 1999 Illinois College Tournament.
