Geneseo State 61, Medaille 54

Claremont, Calif. — Hannah Oken-Berg scored 18 points and Carleton shot 63 percent in the second half in besting Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 63-44, in the David Wells Classic.

The Knights (3-0) shot 52 percent in the second half in finishing the four-team, round-robin tournament as the lone unbeaten team. No official tournament champion was declared.

Sarah Lincoln, Amber Connor and Anna Biewen scored eight points each as the Knights committed only nine turnovers against the Athenas full-court pressure.

The Knights used a 10-1 run to close the second half and lead, 26-16, at the break. Although the Knights were outrebounded, 38-30, for the first time all season, Carleton head coach Tammy Metcalf-Filzen pointed to her team\'s ability to handle the full-court defense as a key.

\"We handled their press well and got some good looks,\" she said.

Metcalf-Filzen was pleased with the Knights\' progression during their six-day stay in southern California. \"We got better every game,\" she said. \"Our first-year players especially played really tough all three games.\"

The Knights will return to Minnesota and open MIAC action on Wednesday, Nov. 29, travelling to Augsburg College at 6 p.m. The game can be heard live on Knights Online.
