Minnesota-Duluth 87, St. Scholastica 62

St. Joseph, Minn. — Hannah Oken-Berg scored 18 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked three shots but 18 Carleton turnovers led to 18 St. Benedict points as the host Blazers dealt the Carleton College women's basketball team their first loss of the season, 64-52.

Sarah Lincoln added 11 points and eight boards for Carleton (4-1, 1-1 MIAC). No other player for Carleton could get on track offensively, as the other seven Knights that saw action were a combined 8-for-27

Oken-Berg's three blocked shots in only her 33rd career game made her the all-time leader in blocked shots at Carleton with 83.

Ellie Boone paced the Blazers (3-2, 2-0 MIAC) with 16 points and Jen Dalhed added 11.

Things looked good for the Knights early, as they hit on their first four shots and led, 8-0, less than three minutes into the game. The Knights, though, went the next six minutes without a basket as the Blazers used a 12-2 spurt, capped by a Dalhed three-pointer, to lead 24-14 with six minutes left in the half.

The Blazers led 29-20 at the break and extended the spread to 15 before Carleton made a push. Lincoln drilled a three and Megan Mileusnic converted a three-point play, as did Annie Isler. A Lincoln basket with 12 minutes left pulled the Knights within six, 41-35, but the Knights went another six minutes without a field goal as the hosts used a 10-2 spurt to put the game out of reach.
