Claremont, Calif. — Hannah Oken-Berg tallied 20 points and six rebounds as Carleton outrebounded host Pomona-Pitzer 45-21 en route to a 63-56 win at the David Wells Classic.

Sarah Lincoln added 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Knights (2-0), who held the Sagehens to 36 percent shooting in the second half and only 5-of-22 shooting from three-point range.

Alana Casner paced Pomona-Pitzer (1-2) with 16 points, seven assists, four steals and four rebounds and Rosa Lee added 12 points for the hosts.

Amber Connor added nine points, five rebounds and four assists and Anna Biewen also tallied nine points.

The Knights trailed by four midway through the first half, but outscored the hosts 12-2, including eight straight, and took a slim 29-26 lead at the half. They built the lead to seven early in the second and used a 16-4 spurt to build their largest lead of the game, 51-35, with less than 10 minutes remaining. Lincoln kicked off the stretch with a triple and layup and Connor capped it with a three-point play. Lincoln tallied nine of the 16 points during the six-minute string.

The Knights were never threatened again, as they maintained a double-digit lead with less than three minutes left.

The Knights counted 13 offensive rebounds among their 45 total collections, offsetting 27 turnovers by the Knights. They held the Sagehens to 5-of-22 from three-point range, as the Knights\' first two foes are now a combined 9-for-46 (19.6%) from three-point range.

Carleton faces Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the second day of the David Wells Classic on the Athenas\' home floor on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 7:30 p.m. PST. The first day of the men\'s and women\'s event had the men at CMS and the women at Pomona-Pitzer, with the sites switching for day two. The Athenas beat UC-Santa Cruz, 56-43, in the other women\'s game.
