Brady McMahon added 10 points in just 17 minutes off the bench for the Oles (7-7, 4-5 MIAC), who gained their first win over Carleton since 2003.
Tommy Drake had a team-best 15 points for the Knights (4-9, 3-5 MIAC). Zach Johnson added 10 points, but was 4-of-18 from the floor.
St. Olaf closed the first half with a 15-3 run.
The win was a salute for longtime St. Olaf coach Bob Gelle, who compiled 275 wins in 22 years at the helm. The Oles' main floor at Skoglund Center was named "BOB GELLE COURT" prior to the game.
The 16-point victory over Carleton was the largest winning margin for St. Olaf in the series since March 2, 1982.
