STORM LAKE, Iowa — The Buena Vista University men's basketball team recorded a 94-86 victory over Cornell College on Friday night. The Beavers won the game at the free throw line as they connected on 24 of 27 attempts from the charity stripe.

Both clubs shot the ball extremely well. Cornell made 58% (35-61) of its shots from the field. Buena Vista shot 50% (31-62) from the floor.

Andre Wagner guided Buena Vista with 21 points. Ryan Dupic registered 19 points in his second start of the season. Kyle Stribe scored 15 off of the bench.

All five Cornell starters scored in double figures. Ray Byrns, who fouled out with over four minutes remaining in the game, led the way with 20 points.

Buena Vista is now 14-7 on the year and 9-4 in the conference. Cornell is 7-15 and 3-10 in the IIAC.

Buena Vista will host Luther College on Saturday in the regular-season home finale.
