DOVER, De. — Wesley College (6-11, 4-6) lost to conference leading Alvernia College (13-3, 8-1) by a final score of 79-69, in men's basketball action on Thursday night at Jim and Shirley Wentworth Gymnasium. Wesley was led by Rashawn Johnson's (SO, Selbyville, DE/Sussex Tech) 20 points, while Cody White (SO, Milton, DE/Sussex Tech) had his fourth double-double of the season with 14 points and 16 rebounds. Wesley fell behind early going into halftime down 37-25.
Alvernia was led by Terrence Shawell (SO, Pottstown, PA/Pottstown) who had a game-high 38 points and 11 rebounds on 13-of-24 shooting. Garrett Etzel (SR, Shillington, PA/Governor Mifflin) added 18 points and Matt King (FR, Phoenixville, PA/St. Pius X) had 13 points. Wesley shot 25-of-70 (35.7%) from the field and both teams committed 13 turnovers. The Crusaders were 26-of-57 (45.6%) from the field.
