Loras shot a sizzling 58.3% (7-12) from three-point range in the first half to take a 45-37 halftime lead. Natalie Pucci made five of those shots from long-range in the first eight minutes of the game as she was on her way to scoring a game-high 21 points.
Buena Vista came back to tie the game at 65-65 with just under seven minutes to go in regulation. The Beavers made just two of their last 14 field goal attempts as the Duhawks pulled away with the victory.
Margo Muhlbauer paced Buena Vista with 20 points on 9-13 shooting. Katie Ebel added 12 points. Tracy Hartwig registered nine points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.
Lindsay Bava poured in 20 points for Loras. Mindy Meyer and Blair Bennett contributed 16 and 11 points respectively for the Duhawks.
Buena Vista dips to 8-6 overall and 1-4 in the IIAC with the loss. Loras improves to 7-7 and 3-2.
The Beavers will travel to Cedar Falls on Saturday to face Wartburg College, which is playing its home games this season at West Gym on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa.
