LINCOLN, Neb. — Tracy Hartwig and Margo Muhlbauer each scored a career-high 26 points as the Buena Vista University women’s basketball team defeated Nebraska Wesleyan University 92-83 on Saturday. It was the third straight win for the Beavers.LEC Plymouth State Panthers

The Beavers scored 51 points in the first half, but the Prairie Wolves rallied from an 11-point halftime deficit to take the lead. Buena Vista eventually broke a 74-74 tie with a 9-0 run to put the Beavers back in control and on their way to victory.
Buena Vista, 3-1 on the year, won the game at the free throw line. The Beavers made 24 of 36 free throw attempts. Hartwig, who also had six assists, led the way by sinking 11 free throws.
Nebraska Wesleyan, which fell to 1-3, stayed in the contest with sharp shooting from the outside. The Prairie Wolves were 13 of 19 from 3-point range including 9 of 11 in the second half.
Ashley Bordovsky led a balanced Nebraska Wesleyan scoring attack with 14 points off the bench. Four other Prairie Wolves scored at least nine points.
Jenn Schumann contributed 15 points for Buena Vista. Katie Ebel led the team with six rebounds.
Buena Vista will open Iowa Conference play on Tuesday by traveling to Luther College.
