Indianola, Iowa — No. 22/24 Simpson (16-3, 8-2 IIAC) made 10 of its first 11 shots as the Storm pounded Central (5-13, 3-6 IIAC) 93-47 Jan. 26 in Indianola. As a result of the strong shooting start, the Storm led 25-4 after the first seven minutes and took a 54-29 lead into halftime. Simpson clamped down on defense in the second half, allowing 18 Dutch points and 25% field goal shooting (7-of-28). Simpson forced 29 Central turnovers and made 19 steals.

The Storm were led by Carrie Larsonwho charted her first career double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds. Both were career highs. Ashley Katch scored 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting and blocked four shots, raising her Division III leading season total to 98. Katelyn Whiton scored 13 poitns and nabbed seven rebounds. Storm point guard Laura Montague was 5-of-7 from the floor for 10 points. She added four steals and three assists.

Central was led by Laura Porter who scored 12 points. The Storm victory sets up a Saturday night meeting with IIAC leader Luther in Indianola. The Norse hold a one-game advantage over the Storm (9-1 to 8-2). Game time is 5 p.m.
