WASHINGTON, D.C. — Salisbury University junior Meghan Phillips was in the zone during the first half of Saturday's Capital Athletic Conference women's basketball game against Gallaudet University. The Freehold, N.J. native scored 21 first half points, including 5-of-9 from behind the three-point arc, to lead the Sea Gulls (7-1, 3-0 CAC) to their seventh straight victory as they beat the Bison 67-45 on the road.

Phillips scored 60 percent of the SU points in the first half as the Sea Gulls led 35-23 at the break. Phillips only scored two points in the second half to end her day with a game-high 23. Seniors Jessica Mills (14 points) and Jenna Peters (11 points) were the other Sea Gulls in double figures.

The seven game win streak is the longest the Sea Gulls have had since 2002-03, when SU won 12 straight.

Gallaudet (1-7, 0-2 CAC) has now dropped its last four games. Tamijo Foronda (14 points) and Shabnam Razmpour (12 points) were the only Bison in double digits.

Salisbury broke open the game with a 24-5 run to begin the second half. The largest lead the Sea Gulls held was 31.

The Sea Gulls are now off for three weeks before taking to the court on January 3, 2007 with a non-conference road game against William Patterson at 6 p.m.
