MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Rochelle Sather (Fr., Andover, Minn.) came off the bench and scored 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the field, hitting 5-of-6 three-pointers, while Jessica Heinen (So., Spicer, Minn./New London-Spicer HS) had a double-double with 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, as Hamline University pulled away to an 82-66 win over host Augsburg College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball game Wednesday evening at Si Melby Hall.

Steph Jurewicz (Jr., St. Louis Park, Minn.) scored 10 points with seven rebounds, and Shelby Hyllengren (Jr., Cannon Falls, Minn.) had eight points, nine rebounds and two steals for the Pipers, now 6-3 overall, 4-2 in MIAC play.

Augsburg (1-7 overall, 1-4 MIAC) was led by Megan Krumrie (So., Elk Mound, Wis.), who claimed her second straight career high in scoring, with 22 points, four rebounds and three steals, hitting four 3-pointers. Katie LaGrave (Jr., Okinawa, Japan/Kadena HS) had 19 points, also hitting four 3-pointers, along with five assists and four rebounds.

Fourteen Hamline players saw game action, and the Piper bench outscored the Auggie bench by a 60-10 margin. Hamline hit 49.1 percent (27-of-55) from the field, while hitting 22-of-28 from the free-throw line. Hamline outrebounded Augsburg by a 53-29 margin. Meanwhile, Augsburg shot 30.0 percent (21-of-70) from the field and 16-of-20 from the charity stripe.

A 15-4 run over an eight-minute span in the first half gave the Pipers a 19-10 lead at the 6:43 mark, a lead extended to 41-31 at halftime. Augsburg trimmed the lead to five points in the first minute of the second half, but Hamline went on a 12-2 run over the next five minutes to claim a 15-point lead, 53-38 with 14:57 left. Hamline extended the lead to as many as 20 points down the stretch.

Ashley Vorwerk (Jr., Gibbon, Minn./Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop HS0 had seven points for the Pipers, while Krystal Tschumperlin (So., Watkins, Minn./Eden Valley-Watkins HS) had five assists.

Brietta Schluender (So., White Bear Lake, Minn.) scored eight points for the Auggies, while Michelle Richter (So., Chaska, Minn.) scored seven points and Jacci Mattern (So., Lakeville, Minn.) had six rebounds.

Both teams return to action on Saturday (1/6) at 3 p.m., with Augsburg playing at Macalester and Hamline playing at Concordia-Moorhead.
