Lebanon Valley 93, Susquehanna 62

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Brad Liddell (Jr., Crystal Lake, Minn./Central HS) scored 22 points - all in the first half - hitting five 3-pointers, as one of four Macalester College players to score in double figures in a 94-81 win over Augsburg College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball contest Saturday afternoon at Augsburg's Si Melby Hall.

Three Macalester (9-11 overall, 6-9 MIAC) players recorded double-doubles -- Tom Conboy (Jr., Chanhassen, Minn./Minnetonka HS) with 21 points and 11 rebounds, Jesse Hollander (Sr., Kathmandu, Nepal/Mountain View (Ore.) HS) with 14 points and 14 rebounds, and Abe Woldeslassie (Jr., Richfield, Minn./St. Thomas Academy HS) with 19 points and 10 assists.

Augsburg (8-12 overall, 5-10 MIAC) was paced by Chuck Scott (Sr., Ely, Minn.), who had 15 points, David Olson (So., Lindstrom, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS), who had 13 points, and Jon Cassens (Fr., Prior Lake, Minn.), who collected 11 points with nine assists.

Macalester connected on 14 three-pointers in the game, including eight in the first half, as the Scots built a 51-36 halftime advantage. Liddell was 7-for-11 from the field, including 5-of-8 from beyond the arc, for his 22 first-half points.

Six different Scots connected on three-pointers. In addition to Liddell's five, Woldeslassie had three, Hollander had two and Lars Johnson (Sr., St. Cloud, Minn./Tech HS) had two, connecting for seven points in the game.

Macalester stretched the lead to 18 points in the second half before Augsburg was able to rally back, cutting the lead to 10 points twice.

Darren Nelson (So., Richfield, Minn.), Femi Solaja (Jr., Cottage Grove, Minn./St. Paul Harding HS) and Justin Kozlowski (Jr., Wausau, Wis./Wausau Newman HS) had eight points apiece for the Auggies, while Grant Hemmingsen (Sr., New Brighton, Minn./Mounds View HS) had nine points and five rebounds.

Macalester hit 51.5 percent (34-of-66) from the field, 14-of-30 from three-point range, and outrebounded Augsburg by a 39-37 margin. Macalester also committed just five turnovers - only one in the first half.

Augsburg shot 46.2 percent (30-of-65) from the field, including 12-of-25 (48.0 percent) from three-point range. Scott and Olson had three 3-pointers apiece. Augsburg committed just 10 turnovers in the game.

Both teams return to action on Monday (2/5), with Augsburg hosting St. Thomas at 5:45 p.m. Macalester has a 7:30 p.m. game at St. John's.
