Capital (4-3, 1-2 OAC) got a game-high 16 points from Caitlin Elsass along with 14 from Kristen Richardson and 10 from Daniele Manalac.
Jessica Gibbons scored 14 points and Caitlin Sureck had 12 to lead John Carroll (2-5, 1-2 OAC).
Capital, up 38-28 at halftime, extended that lead to 14 points, 44-30, when Elsass hit a layup with 17:56 to go. John Carroll rallied with a 15-4 run to close the gap to three, 48-45 on a free throw by Alison Kern with 10:42 left in the game. The Crusaders then scored four-straight points on a jumper from Richardson and a layup from Heather McAlpin and held off the Blue Streaks the rest of the way.
