COLUMBUS, Ohio — Capital University women's basketball team extended a season-high winning streak to six games with an 83-75 overtime Ohio Athletic Conference victory over nationally ranked Baldwin-Wallace College Saturday in Columbus.

Capital, winners in nine of its last 10 games, moves to 12-4 overall and at 8-2 in the OAC into a second place tie with Baldwin-Wallace, now 14-3 overall and 8-2 OAC. The Jackets entered the game ranked No. 7 in the coaches poll and No. 12 in the D3hoops.com Top 25.

Capital sophomore guard Caitlin Graessle nailed six three-pointers as part of a career-best and game-high 24-point performance. Along with Graessle, freshman Kristin Richardson came off the bench and scored 14 of her 18 points in the second half and overtime, while sophomores in Caitlin Elsass and Daniele Manalac had 15 and 10 respectively for the Crusaders.

Baldwin-Wallace got 17 points from Amanda Mondrach and 16 off the bench, including a three-pointer that sent the game to overtime from Selena E-Budge and 11 from Carly Flowers.

B-W jumped out to a 10-3 lead when Stacia Shrider hit a jumper with 17:21 left in the half. The Crusaders answered scoring seven of the next nine points over the next two minutes to close the gap to two points, 12-10. Capital then tied the game at 16 on a pair of Ralphie Beal free throws with 10 minutes remaining in the half. The lead changed hands nine more time until Abbey Davenport hit a three-pointer to give Capital a 34-32 lead at the 3:07 mark. Capital would keep that two-point at the break, 42-40.

Capital opened the second half on a 8-0 capped by a Graessle layup to extend the lead to 50-40 with 17:11 left in regulation. B-W would rally with a 17-7 burst to tie the game at 57 at the 10 minute mark. The Jackets would tie the game two more times but not take the lead and would knot the game for a 10th time at 69 when Budge hit a three-pointer with six seconds remaining in regulation to send the game to overtime.

Jessica Latimer hit a jumper a minute into overtime to give B-W its first lead, 71-69, since the 3:10 mark of the first half. Capital would quickly tie the game on a Richardson layup and retake the lead on a Manalac layup before a Budge jumper would tie the game for a 12th a final time at 73 with 2:15 left. Capital would finish the game on a 10-2 run, going 8-for-8 from the free throw line in the final minute to put the game away.
