Pittsford, N.Y. — The men’s basketball team lost to St. John Fisher Saturday 88-59. Sophomore forward Sean Leahy (West Genesee/Syracuse) led the Bombers with 15 points. The Bombers drop to 9-8 and 4-3 in the Empire 8, while St. John Fisher improves to 14-4 and 5-2 in the conference.

Sophomore center Jeff Bostic (Geneva/Geneva) scored 14 points and sophomore guard Sean Burton (Notre Dame/Yorkville) had 13 points. Burton led the team with three assists. Freshman center Tom Brown (Bayport-Blue Point/Bayport) finished with eight points and grabbed a team-high six rebounds.

St. John Fisher was led by senior guard Dan Mueller (Waterloo/Waterloo)who scored a team-high 18 points and made a team-best seven assists. Senior center Dan McSweeney (Marcellus/Marcellus) recorded a double-double when he scored 17 points and pulled down a game-high 15 boards. Freshman guard Chris Baltz (Vestal/Vestal) scored 16 points.

The Bombers trailed 51-23 at the break and opened the second half with a 12-4 run which started at 18:18 by a Brown free throw and was capped at 15:12 with a lay-up by Bostic. Despite the run, the Bombers were not able to catch up as the game ended 88-59.

The Bombers travel to Oneonta Tuesday for an 8 p.m. tip-off.
