With 9:07 remaining in the half, Anglum connected on another trey giving the Raiders their first lead of the contest at 22-19. Simpson would answer right back and regained the lead (30-27) on a Jason Parkinson three-pointer. The Storm led 38-34 at halftime.
In the second half, Simpson continued to have the hot hand increasing its lead to double-figures (44-34) as Jason Soppe connected on a layup for the Storm. Simpson’s largest lead was 11 (66-55) with 6:41 remaining in the contest. However, Mount Union battled back and got within a point, 70-69, after Sam King drilled a triple with 1:42 to go capping a 14-4 run. The Storm’s solid free-throw shooting down the stretch was enough to hold on to the win.
