Cornell (N.Y.) 83, Ithaca 66

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Capital University men's basketball team made a season-high 11 three-pointers and held finished the game on a 10-0 run over the game's final two minutes to score an 83-76 Ohio Athletic Conference victory over Wilmington College Wednesday at The Capital Center.

Sophomore Ryan Wood matched his season-high with 21 points, while junior Steve Kyser scored 14 of his 17 including three three-point field goals in the second half to keep Capital perfect in OAC play (4-2, 2-0 OAC).

Wilmington had three players in double figures led by 15 points from Sam Lahmers as the Quakers stays winless in the OAC at 0-2 and 3-3 overall.

Kyser hit a three-pointer with 1:59 to play to tie the game at 76-76; then the Crusaders went 7-of-8 from the free throw line the rest of the way to ice the victory.

Wilmington jumped out to a 12-5 lead when Sam Lahmers hit a jumper with 15:24 left in the first half. Capital responded with a 12-2 run capped by a Jake Fanning three to take its first lead of the game, 17-14, at the 11:18 mark. Four ties and four lead changes highlighted the remainder of the half with Capital taking a 36-35 lead at the break.

The second half featured seven lead changes, seven ties and neither team held more than a four-point lead until the final minutes of play.

Aside from Kyser and Wood, Nate Stahl had 12 points and Fanning came off the bench for 10 as the other double digit scorers for Capital.
