SEWANEE, Tenn.
Cassie Pruzin and Jenna Fernandez each scored 18 and led eighth-ranked DePauw to a 76-61 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win at Sewanee.
DePauw improved to 21-3 overall and 13-0 in the SCAC with its 10th straight win and clinched the SCAC Eastern Division's top seed in next week's conference tournament. The hosts dropped to 8-16 overall and 3-10 in the SCAC.
The Tigers capped a 23-4 first-half run by scoring 14 straight in taking a 33-14 lead with 5:26 left in the half. DePauw held a 42-28 halftime advantage before opening the second half with a 12-3 run. They eventually extended the lead to as many as 29 at 72-43. Sewanee closed the gap with a late 12-0 stretch.
Pruzin and Fernandez combined to connect on 14 of 21 from the field as the Tigers shot 57.4 percent as a team including 63 percent in the first half. Andrea Travelstead matched a career high with 11 points.
Pruzin aldo added nine rebounds and six assists in the win as DePauw held a 36-28 advantage on the boards.
Anne Wills paced Sewanee with 17 points, while Courtney Childress and Acacia Mack each scored 10.
