UW-Whitewater had five player tally double figures as UW-Stout lost to the third ranked Warhawks, 83-72, Saturday at Johnson Fieldhouse.
The Warhawks (20-1, 11-1) pulled out to a seven point, 35-29, halftime lead and stretched that to as much as 18 points, 65-47, with 8:16 left in the game.
The Blue Devils (14-7, 8-4) eventually got the score to as close as nine points, 76-67, with just over a minute left, but the Warhawks made all eight free throws down the stretch.
Whitewater, which shot 50 percent in the second half and 43.6 percent for the game, were led by inside player Tiffany Mortan with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Heidi Sonntag and Lindsey Buechner added 16 apiece and Kelsey Hendrickson and Meghan Schmidt tossed in 10 points. The win marked the first time Whitewater has swept Stout since the 1994-95 season.
Stout, which shot 35.4 percent for the game, got 14 points from Lindsey Geissler and 11 points from Joanna Bird.
