FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Senior center Liz Hickey had 12 points, six rebounds, and five blocked shots to pace the fourth-ranked University of Mary Washington women's basketball team to an 81-56 win over visiting Bridgewater College at Goolrick Gymnasium on Tuesday evening. Junior Ashton Mitchell added 12 points and senior point guard Amanda Bates scored 11 points and added five rebounds and four steals for the Eagles, now 19-1 on the season.

Mary Washington held a slim lead for most of the first half, but Bridgewater used a 10-0 run to take a 26-21 lead with 5:07 left in the first half, and took a six-point lead at 32-26 with 2:25 to play. UMW scored the final nine points of the half to lead, 35-32, at intermission.

The Eagles outscored the guests, 46-24, in the second half, thanks to 62.5% shooting, while limiting Bridgewater to 30.4% shooting.

Bridgewater was led by Jessica Burkholder's 15 points. Leigh Kampman had a game-high seven assists for the Eagles.

Mary Washington will host Gallaudet University in a Capital Athletic Conference game on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
