69, Millikin 56 The victory was the 17th win in a row for Fontbonne and advances them to the sectional round to face Wartburg on March 9, 2001. The Lady Griffins up their record to 21-6 while the Millikin finishes the year at 23-3. The Griffins took
control of the game with a 15-0 run to close out the first half. Millikin went up 23-16 with 5:45 left in the first half, but the Big Blue would not score again until the 19:00 minute mark in the second half. Fontbonne was led by the inside duo of Junior Amy Hauschild and Freshman Elizabeth Klontz. Hauschild led Fontbonne with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Klontz chipped in 19 points and 14 rebounds. Melissa Steward also had 19 points for the Griffins. Millikin was led in scoring by Missy Barrett with 17 points. Sara Brown added 15 for the Big Blue. |
