Catholic 79, Roger Williams
66 Catholic will meet Hobart College, a 98-80 winner over Plymouth State College, in the championship game Saturday at 4 p.m. Roger Williams will meet Plymouth State at 2 p.m. Michael Lynch led the Hawks (5-3) with 17 points. Chad Boiselle had 12 points and nine rebounds and Kenny Nappi 10 points and seven rebounds. Morley hit all three of his 3-pointers in the first half and Mike Hartman notched one in from just inside halfcourt as time expired in the first half to give the Cardinals (6-2) a 36-33 halftime lead. Catholic hit 8 of 16 from beyond the arc for the game. Andy Rice's consecutive 3-pointers punctuated a 12-2 run to open the second half to hand the Cards a 48-35 advantage with 15:28 to play. Tim Judge (10 points) hit a driving layup at the 6:44 mark as Catholic went up, 64-48. Rice finished with eight points, six rebounds and three steals. Pat Maloney added a season-high seven assists for the Cardinals. Morley, who grabbed five rebounds, connected on 6 of 7 field goals and 3 of 4 from the line. Roger Williams' Jason Widgeons totaled eight points, eight boards and three blocks. Andrew Provost contributed six assists and three steals. |
