Hobart 98, Plymouth State
80 Sophomore forward Davidek Herron scored 13 of his 20 points in the second half, as Hobart (3-2) opened the second period on a 16-4 run to put the Panthers (4-5) away. Hobart also scored the final five points of the first half. Sophomore center Joe Corbett led all scorers with 21 points, while junior guard Brian Schiele added 18 and junior guard Michael Gambino 17. Hobart shot 56.9 percent (33-for-58) from the floor and 46.7 percent from three-point range (7-for-15). Plymouth State was led by senior forward Tony Martinez's 18 points. Hobart will play 10th-ranked Catholic University in the championship game Saturday. Catholic defeated Roger Williams 79-66 in the evening's other semifinal. Plymouth State will play Roger Williams in the third-place game. |
